If you can help out, please sign up by going to Events and Seminars and click on the underlined race day and sign up. Or email race@morainesailingclub.org with your requested date(s). Remember racers, you need to serve at least once on race committee in order for your scores to count.

Teen Racing Clinic in July

The teen racing clinic is a weekend event open to all Moraine Sailing Club teenagers of high school age. It will be a learn to race program, structured to those who know how to sail and now want to learn to race. The group will be staying at the Davis Hollow Cabin Friday night July 9th and Saturday night July 10th. For more information, please contact Jason Harrison at jake_159@yahoo.com. To register, click on "Youth Sailing" at the left.

New Race Scoring System This Year

We are using a different race scoring system this year – high point scoring. The high-point scoring system counts how many total boats you beat in each race, and accumulates that number throughout the series. At the end of the season, the boat with the most points will be awarded first place. For more information, click on the "Racing" link on the left.

About The Club

The Moraine Sailing Club (MSC) is a volunteer club dedicated to promoting sailing and sailboat racing in Western Pennsylvania. The club is based at 3,225-acre Lake Arthur (located in Moraine State Park in Butler County, Western PA). Note that as of March 9, 2010 a total of three bridges have been closed on West Park Road for structural repairs and deck replacement. The detours will add travel time when entering and exiting the North Shore of Moraine State Park. For more information on detours and construction visit the Penn Dot website. Click on either Current Projects or Future Projects and Butler County.

Moraine Sailing Club is an all volunteer Club, founded in 1970. Member volunteers of the MSC:

  • Provide sailing instruction for members (both adult & youth).
  • Organize social activities that bring fellow sailors together.
  • Conduct sailboat races.
  • Cooperate with State & Park authorities to promote boating safety & improve facilities at the park.

The MSC also runs a Community Sailing Program (CSP) that allows members to share and maintain a pool of community-owned boats.

The club includes members of all ages, experience, and backgrounds. It is never too late to learn to sail!
